Excellent, if a little dated5
I remember this 13 part series being shown in the late 70s, and being a Dicken's fan, have wanted to own it for years. Although the production is a little dated compared to the modern period pieces, both the script and cast are absolutely superb. Special mention for Roy Dotrice who is simply marvellous as both Charles' father John Dickens, and as the mature Charles Dickens. Also worthy of much praise is Gene Foad as the younger Charles Dickens. I can't recommend this series enough, especially at the price being asked by Amazon. PS. Happy 85th birthday to Roy this May 26th - long may he continue!
