I prefer this version to the original despite the difference in budgets and class of actors. This was a well researched film that seemed more realistic to the story of the famous slave revolt.

Alright not exactly historical (Queen songs, Nike signs anyone!!) but a thrilling, fun film all the same. Great chemistry between the characters and worth buying for Paul Bettany's 'Chaucer' alone!

A 'cockney' Henry VIII whatever next!! Not entirely accurate, but this is very good though with excellent supporting cast Sean Bean, David Suchet and Helene Bonhem Carter.

Do not be put of by the 'mini series' tag. This is a good attempt to portray the life of Julius Caesar one of histories greatest heroic/tyranical figures, depending on your view.

Despite its budgetry limits this is great series with a great leading performance by Sean Bean. Who has not wanted to be as heroic or dashing as Sharpe? No? I dont believe you!

how could anyone make a despot like Attilla look heroic, noble and even good!Yet this film somehow manages it. Although long it is still well worth a watch.

A film that was made by its glorious scenary, thrilling score brutal battle scenes. I have seen it countless times and never get tired of it, Madeline Stowe may have something to do with that!
