Quality results from an uncomplicated camera
A perfect camera for anyone who wants to keep their photography simple. It doesn't have much in the way of gadgetry but if you look around when people are taking photos -few of them use anything more than point and press!

And the main thing is that it takes brilliant clear photographs.

I bought it as a Christmas present for my wife, the original technophobe, and she loves it. It has a large, bright, clear screen, visible even on a sunny day, which dims automatically after a few seconds to save battery life.

It has a simple mode wheel giving access to several scene modes. One of the scene modes is 'portrait'. In this mode face detection is included, giving the best possible focus for the main part of the picture and it automatically (and very successfully) removes red-eye. It also has a macro mode, and a stabilization (anti blur) mode.

It has a self-timer, and both optical zoom (5x) and digital zoom taking it to a maximum of 15x. You can also take videos at 30 frames per second and it has a slide show feature to review your pictures .

Any negative points? Well, the only one I can think of is that if you alter the settings (for example turn off the flash) they remain in that altered position even when the camera has been switched off and turned on again later. This means that you have to be aware of adjustments you've made and be prepared to reset them to the 'normal' setting afterwards.

If you're not David Bailey and just want to take good, reliable family and holiday photographs then I would certainly recommend this camera.

Great little camera at a great price from Amazon. Small and light enough to slip into a pocket but with good zoom capability and anti-shake it is perfect for capturing family and other events.
