Manufacturer's Description
This 12in LP4 to SATA Power Y Cable Adapter features two Serial ATA power (female) connectors and one LP4 male connection - a reliable solution that lets you power two SATA drives using a single LP4 connection to the computer power supply. This durable LP4/SATA Y cable adapter is 1ft in length, giving you enough cable slack to position drives as needed within the computer case while saving the cost and hassle of upgrading a power supply for compatibility with Serial ATA drives.

Customer Reviews

Allows an older PSU to power a new SATA drive5
Having upgraded from an PATA/IDE drive to a SATA, and finding that my PSU didn't have a SATA power lead (although I did already have a SATA data lead), I found this device very handy. Because it has two power SATA connectors, it leaves me the possibility of adding another drive in the future.

Well done to the supplier for not adding on small fortune for postage, too.

Great does the job, very cheap5
Cheap or no delivery cost. Overall cheaper than my local PC shop, saves a trip and most likely parking ticket.

Simple but effective5
You would think a new PC with only SATA connectors on the motherboard would have spare SATA power connectors but no, not on my Compaq - as many as 8 standard (LP4) spare power connectors, not one SATA!

Hence this handy device, which simply converts a standard power connector to allow up to two SATA devices to be powered. Simple to connect (if you are not frightened by removing the PC case) and works well. Not that it is rocket science, particularly, but it is quite sturdy and well-made, and having two SATA power connectors is worthwhile even if you only need one for the moment.

Price is reasonable and so is postage, though it did take four working days to arrive, so if you need it in a hurry you would be advised to go for a faster delivery option if offered.
