Customer Reviews

A great piece of hardware for a great console5
The Xbox 360 120GB hard drive is one of pure excellence and ease of use. With all that space, you can install many games, download many demos and videos and buy tonnes of DLC and arcade games. Included is the data transfer kit; used for transferring data from your smaller hard drive to the 120GB hard drive. The transfer process is a very simple and straightforward one; I had absolutely no issues with it.

All in all, I highly recommend this hard drive to anyone who is in need of more space.

Over priced? or a must have?4
I know that lots of people are saying that the new hard drive is far too expensive. In a way I agree, but there is only one real reason I can think of where you would need to consider buying it anyway.

If you have just bought an Xbox 360 to play games with your mates etc, then there is no way you would need to upgrade. As it is, you have a 20Gb hard drive (12Gb of which are allocated for game saves)which, lets face it will never be filled.

The next type of Xbox owner is connected to Xbox Live and downloads games, plays online and requires lots more storage space to store all of your demo's videos and anything else which appears week after week. It is still not essential to upgrade if you keep deleting the demo's, video's etc after you have had enough to make room for you're new ones.

The main reason I think Microsoft has released this is to a) not be out done by Sony's PS3 hard drive and b) because around christmas, microsoft is launching its movie and tv service through Xbox Live. This means that you can download your movies and favourite tv programs through the service in stunning High Definition. The movies can be rented for a few days by downloading them paying through 'Microsoft Points' and they will have an expiry date in which to watch them. Kind of like a virtual Blockbusters. The servive is already up and running in the U.S, so many titles will make an appearance for launch.

In Brief. If you want to download lots of demo's, Movies and add-on packs, then this is an essential purchase.

Happy Gaming :-)

Wayyy expensive but very very necessary.4
Basically, the new xbox update in late november will allow you to save games to the hard drive for better loading times and quieter running.

So this HDD is now almost essential for those who have a 20GB (like i used to). A game will take up about 4.5GB according to early reports, so lost of disk space will be essential for most people.

Grab it at play.com though as it is cheaper.
