Pixel Perfect4
With the release of so many different phones, it's often hard to choose a handset worthy of your hard earned cash. If like me you like quality products and top of the range phones, you may have looked at this phone, being the flagship Cyber-Shot handset from Sony Ericsson. So firstly this is an 8.1 mega pixel camera phone, one of only two currently available in the UK (the other being the Samsung INNOV8) and i'm lucky enough to own both of them. The Sony Ericsson has a lovely 2.4 inch mineral glass screen which is beautifully clear and sharp. It's finished in soft-touch rubber for that better grip. It's a good weight at 134g, i think, or 136g, and quite chunky, and that's rather heavy these days for a mobile. Remember though at what you have inside this phone. The weight is justified and it feels solid and good quality to hold rather than wafer thin and too light. We have to remember that phones used to weigh 250g + when they first became popular, so really this is nothing compared to what we used to carry around. It has GPS built in, WiFi, a 262,000 colour screen, 2GB memory card (M2 type), Bluetooth (including stereo Bluetooth), radio, great music player software, TrackID, and Google Maps, to name but a few other features.
The camera quality is superb and i've seen A4 size printed results on proper photo quality paper. Detailing is clear and sharp and colour representation is true to life. When viewed on screen they look stunning, and the built-in accelerometer will tilt the image depending on how you're holding the phone (either normal way up or landscape). Movie making and picture editing sofware is included to further enhance your images. It makes for a serious contender for a digital camera replacement, and many will indeed ditch their cameras in favour for the C905, which is the idea - a complete unit - camera, MP3 player and phone.
The phone is well built and strong with no creaks or cracks, but i'd like to have seen the use of more metal in the construction, like used in the Samsung INNOV8. It adds to the overall quality feel and makes for a stronger construction in the long term. The scratch resistant mineral glass screen is welcome.
The phone works well as a phone with clear audio and speach was good. Texting is a little awkward on the keypad. The buttons are kind of all fused together so you don't get an individual feel from each one, and speed texing is out of the question.

What we basically have is a quality handset, albeit vastly over priced, and one of Sony Ericsson's very best efforts. The camera will impress although i've seen results just as good from 5 mega pixel camera phones. Still, this is just a taster of what is still to come. If you want a good camera and don't mind the heft, the C905 is worthy of your time and money. Give it a home. You might just like it.

What should have been a fantastic and quality product turned out to be a shocking disaster. I orderd the C905 on my o2 contract and was largely impressed with the look, feel and performance of the phone. To be honest you could almost forget that the C905 is a phone. However my joy in the quality was short lived as after 3 weeks the buttons on the key pad stopped working and made dialing/texting impossible. I returned the phone to phones4u and was given a brand new hand set after they acknowledged it was a known error on one or two handsets. Again i was made up with my posh phone, however this one turned out to be worse than the first. This time after 10days the buttons began to stop working and the final straw was after 2weeks the speak stopped working making the item useless. This time phones4u would not replace the phone for an identical or even similar handset and i was given a samsung toco.
Take head avoid this problematic phone, although eye catching and a quality camera, problems are only days away.

Sony Ericsson C905 Phone Speaker Problems1
Avoid this phone at all costs. The speaker on my phone went wrong after just 2 months making the phone useless. A quick search on the web showed numerous other customers with the same problem.

I tried to return the phone to Vodafone for repair, but their response was that I had to buy another phone, while mine was being repaired!!!! The manager also confirmed that 6.5% of the c905's are faulty and Vodafone customer service said that if the phone had the same problems three times in a month they would replace.

The worst phone and service I have ever received

6 months on and exactly the same problem again!!!!!

I have to ask, what is the point of a phone that you cannot rely on to make a phone call!!!!!
