	Learn Russian by Ian Press Buy new: £5.20 / Used from: £5.86 Another interesting beginners book but not very good if you aren't a fast learner- if you can only afford one book, get the above!
	The Big Silver Book of Russian Verbs: 555 Fully Conjugated Verbs (Big Book of Verbs) by Jack Franke Buy new: £5.99 / Used from: £5.97 If you're serious about learning Russian, you'll have to get to grips with the verbs- and this is the book to do it!
	The Oxford Russian Grammar and Verbs (Dictionary) by Terence L.B. Wade Buy new: £3.66 / Used from: £3.52 A very clear and succinct handbook on all major areas of Russian grammar. More appropriate than a larger, expensive book.
	Using Russian: A Guide to Contemporary Usage by Derek Offord Buy new: £19.74 / Used from: £19.32 Extremely helpful for the advancing student; no good for beginners. Provides guidance on style and register etc.
	Russian (Lonely Planet Phrasebook) by Jim Jenkin Buy new: £1.14 / Used from: £1.33 Phrase books tend to be quite poor but this one isn't too bad- good for carrying around in your pocket when in Russia!
	Colloquial Russian 2: The Next Step in Language Learning (Colloquial) by Svetlana Le Fleming Buy new: £9.38 / Used from: £9.00 The book you should use after "New Penguin Russian Course". Covers aspects of Russian life, as well.
	Russian Vocabulary by E. Hinkel Buy new: £1.24 / Used from: £1.21 Provides vocabulary lists...worth picking up if you're doing the GCSE or A-Level.
	Collins Russian Dictionary Buy new: £9.74 / Used from: £4.80 I've not come across any particularly brilliant Russian/English dictionaries so one such as this will have to suffice!
	The Da Vinci Code - Russian by Dan Brown Buy used from: £58.95 Not a fan of the actual novel but the Russian translation is very good and will help to increase your word stock.
	Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Russian Edition) by J.K. Rowling Same as above. If you can find it, the best translation I have read in Russian is "The Lion, Witch And The Wardrobe".
	Russia (Teach Yourself World Cultures) by Stephen Webber Culture and history comes as part of the parcel with any language, so a book like this will fill you in with the basic information on Russia.
	Dead Souls (Penguin Classics) by Nikolai Gogol Buy new: £3.28 / Used from: £3.20 Russian literature (English translation should probably be read first unless your Russian is VERY good).
	The Master and Margarita (Penguin Modern Classics) by Mikhail Bulgakov Buy used from: £6.44 As above
	The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956 (Perennial Classic.) by Aleksandr Isaevich Solzhenitsyn Buy used from: £6.79 Superb but challenging read
	The Return [2003] Buy new: £4.97 / Used from: £2.50 Russian film: the best I have seen (not that I've seen very many, admittedly).
