It's a distinctive work, fully envisioned and
not in the least imitative, and has the potential of becoming a children's classic.
Customer Reviews
Not just for kids.
Like Saint-Exupery's "The Little Prince", this is a childrens' book which is also aimed at a wider audience.
Metaphrog have crafted a beautifully illustrated fable of isolation, friendship and betrayal which will charm children and leave adult readers decidedly unsettled, a difficult enough task to achieve in ONE book, but one which they manage to continue through all the Louis books.
I have loved "The Little Prince" since I read it - aged about 8 - but only now do I understand it properly: one can only hope that eight year olds reading Louis today will be as haunted by it as I was by Saint-Exupery's creation.
The power is certainly there.
