RUBBISH!!!1
As a reasonably well inked woman, I love ANYTHING to do with the art.
I was really excited when this was advertised on TV, as I love Miami Ink and also the spin off with Kat Von D, and was actually feeling pretty pleased that for a change London was getting some respect, as the UK has some fantastic artists, Louis Molloy being the man and legend that he is.
HOWEVER, I settled down in front of the TV................and after tuning in for EVERY episode, felt THOROUGHLY embarrassed and let down by the crap programme that London Ink truly is.
I gave it the benefit of the doubt, and thought "hey this will get better, it has to" but sadly it just got worse and worse, it was NOTHING like the other programmes, and bombed gloriously into a sea of arguments and cringe worthy moments.
I won't be wasting my hard earned cash on the DVD, it could have been so good, but with the rubbish artists he had, and the constant moaning and complaining of Louis Molloy himself (he's really lost all credability), he didn't even attempt to endear himself to his viewers, sorry Louis, but there ARE other artists out there far better.
All in all a really poor attempt......with the right artists and a bit more thought this could have knocked the crown off Miami's head, instead it turned the UK and it's amazing tattooing world into a laughing stock!

London Ink - The Complete Series One 1
A poor mans Miami Ink , so many British tattoo artist could do a lot better!!!!

Don't compare it to Miami Ink4
I don't think that I would compare London Ink to either Miami Ink or LA Ink as they are both American shows! Of course you have all the glamour of Amercian people with shots of women in bikinis on South Beach in Miami Ink or well-groomed folk in Hollywood.

I actually think there are a lot of similarites with Miami Ink, as Louis is much like Ami as a boss, bemoaning the time-keeping of staff, or staff's reluctance to do certain styles of tattooing. The whinging of clients who turn up at the shop & don't know what they want, or want tattoo's done that don't look good on the body. I agree with Louis, I wouldn't want Dan chatting for 6 hours to me to do a tattoo that he could do in half the time, seeing as the average price of a tattoo in London is £80 per hour.

The main thing that ruined my enjoyment of watching London Ink is the repetition of 'how Louis did the Guardian Angel' - how many times do we need to know this fact! Surely the editors could have kept the trailers for the show out of this or maybe they didn't have enough footage of tattooing?

I personally wish all these tattoo shows would not give so much airtime to the small tattoos that look like they have come out of a bubble-gum packet and show the more larger, intricate designs that demostrate the artist's talent.
