Good Book, well worth the money
I purchased this book prior to attending the close protection course. I found the book to be extremley useful and knowlegeable and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of pusuing a career in the close protection field.

The New Bodyguard
This book written by an author with a great deal of experience in all aspects of Close Protection, gives a clear and informative look into the industry. This book was a bench mark for me before attending the Close Protection course with Clearwater Special Projects, and is a must read for anyone else looking to start a career in this profession.

Excellent insight into the world of Close Protection
I am attending the CPO's course with Clearwater Special Projects and felt it necessary to do some prior reading about close protection. With recommendations from persons already in the industry, I decided to purchase The New Bodyguard by Kevin Horak and The modern Bodyguard by Peter Consterdine. Upto now I have only read The New BodyGuard and must say what an excellent well written portrayal of the world of close protection. The book explains from different angles how a person like myself can enter the profession. How you should display yourself towards potential employers and Principals (clients), to finding the right work with your experience, and the right paths to take to progress in the industry. It also gives you an insight into the training involved, the discipline expected as a CPO, and even down to assisting you with your Professional C.V.
Even though I have had a lot of experience in the other sectors of the Security Industry, I found this an inspirational read which I would recommend to any rookie wanting a career in this industry. You only have to look at the experience of the author and his team to realise they know what they are talking about. So bring on the course.
