Customer Reviews

Breathtaking5
This CD has to be considered as one of the greats. An amazing album with some wonderful songs such as 'Memory', 'I Dreamed A Dream' and the spectacular 'Seasons of Love'- taken from the musical Rent. All these and more performed with Michael's fabulous voice...Who could ask for more??.

...like he's never been away5
Michael Ball employs his trademark silk across this selection - what must rank as his finest to date. Having co-produced the album with Surgeon, Michael's really at ease with the techno idiom, employing a range of loops from the abstract to those influenced by the canadian Akufen. I understand Tresor are interested in the "Tell me on a Sunday" as part of their Love Parade float in Berlin later this year; what a way to start the festival !!!
"The boy from Nowhere" - both a reaction against the callumny of ego and an incidental tribute to Michael's sensitivity - places a two-step break at the fore. How can Michael say he's the boy from nowhere? He'll always have a place in my heart and I know where that is.
By the end of the journey, Michael sashays along the Mersey recounting how we'll never walk alone. This guys up their with Fenwick, Dalgleish and Souness alright! and he's right, he'll never walk alone - they'll always be someone behind him, cheering him on.
Lovely stuff!

Frustration3
I love Michael Ball and his voice, but the track lists are getting a bit reptitive. I have almost all of these songs already on his other cd's. I don't see the point of releasing a cd with songs already released? It's like he recorded three or four songs then just jammed in some other songs from his other cds to make up a 'new cd'. Its like every cd he does is a 'greatest hits' cd, but where the hits came from is a mystery. On top of this, new songs are from Musicals or from movies, we have heard them all before, please get a song writer!!
3 stars however, are for his beautiful, flowing and powerful voice, as always. And I love 'Dreamed a dreamed'.
If you have lots of his others, I dont think you should bother. If this is one of your first Michael Ball cd's then go for it.
