Manufacturer's description
Unique to Panasonic, the Inverter Technology, replaces the conventional transformer and capacitor with an Inverter circuit board to offer many benefits.
Faster Cooking, the inverter system improves the efficiency of the power supply which results in faster cooking and reheating.
Constant Power, most microwaves only operate on constant power when High or Full is selected. Other power levels are acheived by the microwave pulsing on and off. Inverter models give constant power for medium and low levels resulting in more efficient and even heating.
Even cooking, when cooking or reheating, Inverter technology ensures that food is heated evenly improving texture and flavour, producing no cold spots and less shrinkage of the food.
Larger Interiors, with less space needed for the components, more space is available inside the oven. This means with a 34cm turntable two dishes can fit easily side by side.
Lighter Ovens, the lightweight Inverter Circuit Board reduces the weight of the ovens by 3 1/2 kgs. That’s 3 1/2 bags of sugar! That makes the ovens easier to move for cleaning.

Very efficient
It does what it says on the tin and more: you can speed up conventional oven times by using a turbo function, which involves using both the conventional (not microwave bit) and the grill. This means about a third off conventional oven times and a lovely crispy top on your food eg pizzas or lasagne / cauliflower cheese all come out great. Most combi ovens only do microwave and or microwave and oven meaning you cannot put metal dishes in them so it is great and is really fast. The chaos mode microwave defrost means bread is not heated up by using it as it is a more even defrost so you can use it for a shorter time and it is not dried out.
A year on, it is still going strong. I have cooked cakes and biscuits with great success using the conventional oven, after learning it is a little cooler than the temperature selected ie a 'slow oven'. I think this may be because you cannot use the higher position turntable for most cakes as they hit the top of the oven, and you must use the lower position where it may be cooler. I found if I add 10 degrees celcius to the temperature I select my cakes are perfect. This oven might have been better designed with a lower top turntable, but that is a minor critism and it is otherwise great.
good buy
really like this microwave,
It cooks a Small roast chicken crispy in 35mins with the combination oven.
2 Medium Jacket potatoes cook in 15min, skins nice and brown but not crispy, more like the jacket potatoes you would buy in a cafe.
Good for saving energy, instead of using my big oven this is ideal for the 2 of us, I have baked scones and they were amazing also quiches etc.
downside
it can be noisy when using microwave and combination, but doesn't bother me.
cookery book is only like a paper leaflet, would have been better hardback simply because there are some really nice recipies in there and if used frequently it will soon wear out or rip, plus when you first get your new microwave you are forever looking in the book for instructions.
ovengloves a must to remove dishes from microwave when you have used the conventional oven, a teatowel not good enough, so easy to catch hands on the side of hot oven, because of lack of space compared to normal conventional oven, but I soon got the hang of it.
this is really worth the money also it is easy to keep clean if you wipe it out when it is still warm.
10/10 for me
Finally given up with Panny microwaves
Right, I'm all for giving everyone a second chance and in this case I even gave Panasonic a third but there has to be a limit;
I had previously had a Panasonic Grill/microwave and when the Magnetron went on that after a few years I thought I'd go for a NN-CT776S as I had liked the features, the look and quality feel/image of Panasonic microwaves generally and thought a Combi Oven was a sensible idea. Loved the features and the performance and life with it was rosy. However, after barely making it through a year there was a 'pop', a fairly unpleasant smell and again the Magnetron had given up (the oven and grill still worked). One replacement CT776S later and seven months down the line there was that familiar 'pop' and smell and yet again the Microwave part of the machine failed once again.I could understand it if I was giving it particularly hard use but Microwaves in our house have quite an easy life!
Thus, I'm throwing the towel in; I'm going to try a Sharp Combi for a change in pursuit of some reliability and see if I can crack a year .
So 10 out of 10 for looks, features and performance (when it's working!), but 1 out of 10 for reliability and longevity. A shame.
