Customer Reviews

Very disappointing1
I have been severely disappointed by this book when I received it - I found the texts to be very basic and exclusively aimed at raw amateurs, the featured images to be totally uninspiring and of a very low photographic standard, the contents generally outdated and, finally, the actual paper, binding and print quality to be rather unimpressive. As a passionate underwater photographer who takes one's hobby very seriously, I can only suggest to anybody interested to skip this product and to pick instead the rather stodgy but very informative The Underwater Photographer: Digital and Traditional Techniques by Martin Edge - which is good for learning the basics on a step-by-step basis - and the less technical but much more inspired A Diver's Guide to the Art of Underwater Photography: Creative Techniques and Camera Systems for Digital and Film by Andrea and Antonella Ferrari, a lush, highly motivational photographic roller coaster which will have you itching for your camera and scuba gear. Approaching the subject matter from two completely different viewpoints, these two titles make an unbeatable and definitive combo when bought together.

More a basic intro than a master guide3
Its a basic introduction (rather than a master guide) to underwater digital photography. On the positive side, it is well laid out and very easy to read. However, despite it being the first such book that I have read, I did not feel that it provided more than a handful of useful tips and I doubt I will be using it as a reference guide in the future.
