Be Yourself is an inspiration for all of us who are so busy trying to get our lives 'sorted' that we have forgotten our true purpose. The demands of the material world can keep us rushing about, doing this and doing that, until we find ourselves on a hamster's wheel of life; going round and round in circles and being unable to get off. Excessive activity can make our daily reality feel like a relentless routine. To lead a meaningful and happy life we need to develop our inner strengths and qualities and we do this by balancing our 'doing' and our 'being'. Life is here to be lived and loved, so step off that wheel and look around you: you are so much more than you think you are. This book takes you on a journey to your best self. You can make things happen in the world without losing your deep inner connection. You can be a success and still let go of tension and relax and enjoy the trip. Learn how to be yourself: how to be active but still aware and conscious of the beauty of each present moment.

A self-help book with a difference
Lynda Field has done it again with another fab book. Be Yourself looks at every aspect of life, are you too busy to be happy, how to stop trying to be perfect, getting men to show their feelings, finding your spiritual centre, stop worrying about cellulite, having body confidence, getting great relationships and much much more. It's written in bite-sized chunks so it's easy to dip into when you only have a few minutes. I love the way Lynda always gives loads of really practical tips and strategies. I'm a great fan and I read everything she writes, this is the best yet
Lacked that punch a book of this sort requires
I read this book from start to finish one sunny Saturday afternoon, and although on occasion, it did provide an interesting insight into your own energy system and other such quirky ways of thinking. Particularly the spiritual topics and references scattered throughout, these parts of the book very interesting and made perfect sense in a new way to me.
The book though definitely lacked that punch a book of this sort requires to be truly helpful and have any sort of impact on your life.
On review, the lessons I should of have been learning were somewhat of a let down, as most of the "60 WAYS TO MAKE YOU FEEL AMAZING" are common sense recycled and written in a manner, which makes them seem like original ideas and approaches. I expected something a lot more profound in approach than what this book was offering.
I guess I really did not get this book in the end, in addition, the title really oversells what it provides and touches on, and maybe something more subtle in the future would not raise expectations on something, which is no more than a book that belongs as a supplement to a puzzle magazine.
Ultimately, I would have to recommend to save your time and cash with this one.

I suspect what you actually glean from books like this depends on how many you have actually read , it becomes like a search for the holy grail during which you lose track of what you already know , this book is good in the sense it reminds you of what you already know but doesn,t leave you abandoned with empty words taking you back to square one , i found it inspiring in a practical lets take action way , inspiration can be found on every page , its readable without being too heavy , you can flick through it and open anywhere to be inspired , on saying that it is a very constructive serious work book , easier to read than many and easier to remember than most lynda field doesn,t have that bullish dogmatic approach that many self help tomes adopt her style i find extremely helpful and encouraging , only four stars though because i felt alienated by some chapters as the book seems to be targeted mostly at females , it feels a bit sisterhood in places but on saying that lynda's words are equally applicable and make an impact but still the quote men are from mars i consider a poached un-imaginative quote , we know that already ..
