An excellent solo squad shooter?!4
'Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2' on the PSP is a conversion of the highly successful "squad shooter" game of the same name that is already available on the Xbox 360. This handheld version has a couple of differences though.

First of all the squad elements of the game have been removed, so unless you are playing this on co-op campaign or your mission is to escort someone, your soldier is in the action on his own. In my opinion this is can be better as sometimes on the 360 version having to command your squad as well as face the enemy yourself can get a little fiddly and although sometimes it can mean that they free up an area ahead from enemies by your command, it can also be a real pain having to run back to heal them when you are trying to fight off a couple of terrorists at the same time.

Next, the levels are different to it's bigger brother, so if you have played the other version before, this will feel like a new game to you.

The graphics on GRAW2 are absolutely brilliant for a handheld game, with sharp images throughout make seeing enemies in the distance no problem at all. The hazy effects adds to the atmosphere, giving you the feeling that youe are in the humid jungle and streets in the game. Character animation is also very realistic, although sometimes enemy AI can be a little buggy (they hear a shot an will flick to be in lying down position).

The controls are where this game has impressed me the most, making great use of the PSP having only 1 stick. Like in Gun Showdown for the PSP, the stick is used to move your solider around whilst the 4 buttons on the right (X, triangle, square and circle) are used to look around. This makes aiming much more precise than using the 360's right stick and once you've been playing for a few minutes, you won't have any problems at all with this unique control method. The direction buttons are used to reload, change weapon, crouch/standup/lie down and use the probe and navel cannons as well as pick up weapons and open the ammo box, whilst the shoulder buttons aim/change view and fire your weapon.

Overall this is by far one of the best shooters I've played on the PSP so far and is a great addition to the Tom Clancy series along with Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six. The difficulty is pretty hard even on the easy setting but if you have played any of the other Tom Clancy games you should be used to this. I recommend this to anyone who likes games like Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid, Rainbow Six or Syphon Filter and if you have played GRAW2 on any other format I'd definitely still give this one a go.

Good but short and easy to complete3
I was really excited to see Ghost Recon 2 hit the psp, and I soon parted with the cash and loaded it up. First impressions were good, yet the misty soft visuals that is applied through the whole game can take a little getting used to. Think Silent hill and you get where I am coming from.

Don't get me wrong, detail is nice in the environments and everything moves smoothly with no slow down. But it would have been nice to see further in the distance. I guess they were trying to show the humidity of mexico, just in my opinion a little over done.

So on starting there is no flash intro just a front screen, here you get the usual options including training. The training works well and does get you used to the controls which work well but can get a little tricky selecting things like explosives or designating laser in a hurry.

But on a plus point, there is talking in this game which does heighten the tension, and unlike splinter cell, there are no irritating breaks in speech, it is smooth and clear.

On the negative, the missions are not big, and some can be completed in only a few minutes. I wouldn't call myself a great gamer, but even I got through the entire game in only a few hours. Which is a shame, because you never really feel you get into a mission before its all over. Does feel cut down even through it was done especially for the psp. No ending video either, just credits. You climb aboard the chopper, get congratulated and thats it. Would have been nice to have seen something for completing the game.

So if you are after a game that will challenge you for a while, maybe you should look elsewhere. In places the AI isn't as sharp as it could have been, but generally this is an enjoyable game but there isn't an awful lot of it, so bear that in mind before purchasing.

GRAW 2 hit the PSP5
One of the most anticipated tom clancy games tt has ever come out!!
This is a brilliant addition to the rather poor collection of PSP games. The graphics and game play are astounding for a PSP with multi player which is great fun i recomend this to anyone who has played other rainbow six and graw games to buy this.
