Customer Reviews

Life changing5
I read this book years ago and it changed my life. Purely because it showed me that the religion I had been born into and thought was real life was man made. I renounced religion after reading this book and have been on a self realisation journey ever since thanks to this book.

I know the book is about intoxicants, but its coverage of religious history opened my eyes and as someone whos has taken just about every recreational drug, it was a very interesting read.

Intelligent, informative and well-written5
The author presents an extremely cogent and intelligent argument for intoxication as a basic biological human desire. He provides a balanced overview of the beneficial and not-so-beneficial effects of the various classes of drug, including alcohol, opiates, hallucinogenics and ecstasy. Very well-written and a pleasure to read.
