Synopsis
Written in an informal style, this guide offers an introduction to the basic techniques of Buddhist meditation, plus detailed advice for more experienced meditators. Part one covers the first steps, part two the principles and part three the practice. Not only a practical handbook, the book is also an exploration of the principles underlying Buddhist meditation and of its real aims: heightened awareness, emotional positivity and insight into the nature of reality.
Customer Reviews
Excellent
A beautifully written book. For all those who are interested in starting (or developing) a meditation practice, this must be highly recommended. Not only does it cover a lot of Buddhist philosophy it also gives much needed practical advice that many meditation books seem to neglect. From just sitting and being still and comfortable, to working with the hindrances, to Vipassana techniques and much more. A must for all those interested in meditation.
