Bloody, bloody good only just surpassing the next book. Also one of Mr Bukowski favourites.

My friend and I found Kentucky Ham in a second-hand bookshop around ten years ago. We didn't know he existed (let alone wrote books). Well, I read it and its partner and they were f*****g brilliant.

Set in a Catholic England in 1968. No Woodstock here as the people anything but 'Free'. Rebellion, though, is in the air.

This is book is very good and is worth reading alongside the two by his son to get the full picture of a very interesting life.

This is quite different. If you have ever met a more repellent creature in any book (J. Archer not included) then i'd be surprised. Good stuff.

Don't know if this is part of "citizenship" classes yet but everybody should read it to see easy we could slip into that world. E.g. Doublespeak = Spin.

Never read this book, but that's not form want of trying. It tells of slum-life in Glasgow and is supposed to be very good. Bukowski in Scotland?

Larkin said your mum and dad f**k you up but i think this book f**ks you up even more. Really difficult to read. When it begins to make sense it stops. Interesting to look at though!

Arthur C. Clarke is the only Science Fiction writer that I know well and this is one of his best (another is earthlight but it doesn't seem to be in print). About a Meteor heading towards the Earth.

This is the audio version of the book. Burroughs reads it and his distinctive voice keeps you interested. Decent music too.

Another one I read at school and found that the i only understood it when I was older. Really good story.

This is quite hard work but it isn't style this time but content. It is a VERY hard book. Originally banned it has an interesting foreward by Anthony Burgess that chronicles the court case.

Idoru is a follow on from Virtual light and is set in Tokyo (almost Neo like Akira) and in cyberspace (that's not what he calls it). It's about a popstars relationship with a computer generated woman.
