Great buy... Linux is ideal for this version
To be honest I've worked in I.T. for the last 10 years and have never seen anything as good value as this.
My only concern would be buying it with Vista as it'll be too slow. I've got the Linux version and it's just the job, no problems at all. it's easy set-up was quick, read in within hour on wireless and ready to use.
Can only agree...
My wife bought an HP 2133 Suse10 for me for Xmas, like I. Stanley I work in IT and need something portable, robust, small!, wireless/wired connectivity, & enough MB's & GB's, - for me to go between 2 sites and be able to work at both. (I have a portable 17" 'desktop' otherwise, with umpteen usb ports, 4 Gb ram, 160Gb drive, Vista Business Ult - and a large bag to carry it!)
- This one fits the bill perfectly, does what I want - boots quickly (windows..?), I've had experience of Linux before so no probs there...it is actually better than windows(says an MCSE..!!), small and portable, runs citrix client..
- Only advice I would add is buy the 6 cell battery (3.5 hrs life, 3cell= 1.45 hrs approx , charging time on both around 1/2 hr) & car charger
- Yes I know its been superceded by the 2140, but while/if you can get them for around £200->250, buy one quick and enjoy.
awful do not buy
the worst computer i have ever bought
the performance is awful
for linux the machine needs rebooting more often than windows which in my experience is unheard of
and just as i was thinking of replacing the HP Novell suse linux with ubuntu 6 months in
the screen broke and HP refused to fix it under warranty even though the machine has been treated like a new born baby
therefore a poor product flimsy, unrobust components, unhelpful and cheating service support, poor performance buy another manufacturer's version e.g acer
