Customer Reviews

What a blast!5
I first encountered Blaster Bates when I found some old cassette tapes that belonged to my late Father. By coincidence my Father-in-law also has some of his records. Blaster Bates was extremely funny and his recollections of his career in blowing things up is both informative and hilarious. He was one of those people who can make anything sound funny - it's the way he tells them! It's such a shame he is not as well known as he deserved to be. Probably not for those who are too 'PC' though, as it is a bit dated in some ways (But that's what they said about Benny Hill before he became popular again)

Truly funny5
This man never fails to make me laugh nor tire of hearing his voice. I always think of his albums as verbal slapstick. All his albums are 100% pure fun and perfect in the car.

Not a humourous CD to play to granny but a damned good laugh4
Blaster Bates' humour relates to blowing things up and the people he's encountered in those exploits. This album is another example of his unique humour, dating from the 70s. Some of the language is a little risque for the 70s but tame by today's standards. That having been said I played the CD to my travelling companions (in the car) and we all had tears rolling down our faces. If you enjoy a good laugh then this is definitely for you. The accent is south Cheshire - if you're not 'local' then you may have to enjoy it more than once to catch the foibles.
