Real Travel
Take a woman verging on insanity, a motorbike verging on dangerous and the
length of two entire continents, and you have the makings of an intrepid
fantasy adventure...If you've ever had an eccentric dream of doing
something seemingly crazy, and yet haven't quite plucked up the courage to
do it, then read Lois on the Loose - it may well give you the inspiration
you require.

British Motorcyclists Federation
A brilliantly entertaining book.

She writes well, moving lightly over her story with a deft touch and a calm
wit. An easy read, and a very 21st century tale.

Customer Reviews

Brilliant, brilliant5
This is the 2nd book from Lois - I loved every word - even my Mother-in-Law loved them - high praise indeed. Having met the lass on many occasions this book shows her natural ability to tell it as it is. Rather like Ted Simon's books - Lois is better in the second book.... "a must read" for all thinking of going for a long motorcycle ride that dreams are made of...

Brilliant - I loved every minute!5
Lois Pryce decides to leave her mundane job at the BBC and go in search of adventure. She plans a lone motorcycle journey starting in Alaska and ending in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in South America (even though she could only speak a few words of Spanish and knew minimal motorcycle maintenance!) Details of the journey are told with great warmth and humour. Highlights include; how to deal with a human roadblock in Mexico; how to cope with a horrific travelling companion; where you can find a group of mechanics who are all Antonio Banderas lookalikes and how to adapt your driving style in Guatemala.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was much more about the journey and the people rather than just places which made it interesting and easy to read. This is one brave woman! I can't wait for her next adventure.

Compulsive Reading!5
A fantastic account of an epic unsupported motorcycle adventure by a very brave young woman; positively side splitting at times and thought evoking at others. This is brilliantly written, very original and i struggled to put it down at times - highly recommended even if you are not a motorcycle enthusiast.
