Brilliant Buddhist poetry !
Although Milarepa's subject matter largely revolves around Buddhism , he probably deserves to be ranked among the great poets of history .
Although a certain degree of knowledge concerning Buddhism is necessary to fully understand many of the poems ; There are brief notes provided for this purpose which give some guidance .
For followers of Tibetan buddhism this compilation of poems is a virtually essential read.
