Synopsis
A phenomenon known as crustal displacement shifts the Earth's crust, repositioning continents and causing countless deaths. In the wake of the global catastrophe, the world struggles to take care of its displaced billions. But Antarctica, freshly thawed and blooming, has emerged as a new hope. Rather than wage a world war no nation can endure, the leading nations devise a competition, a race to the center of Antarctica, with the three victors dividing the continent. It is within this race that Mirabelle Whitney, one of the few surviving experts on the continent, grouped with an American special forces unit, finds herself. But the dangers awaiting the team are far worse than feared; beyond the sour history of a torn family, beyond the nefarious intentions of their human enemies, beyond the ancient creatures reborn through anhydrobiosis-there are the Nephilim. The world races to claim a new continent, only to find it already taken.

Absolutely Fantastic!5
I must mention firstly that Jeremy has again set a new record for creating suspence.

If you have already read 'Raising the Past' and 'Didymus Contigency' then you'll love this fine work. It's got more action than 'Raising the Past', more religious undertones than 'Didymus Contigency'.

If you like a good science fiction novel that isn't too far fetched then you'll love this read.

The plot, layout and readability are also worth mentioning, I'm not into really heavy books that take a PhD to read and understand but Jeremy (as always) finds a way to highlight coincidental and historical events with the story and I found that just envelopes the reader even more and encourages you to read on.

Fantastic5
Back to His Best, One of the most interesting theoretical stories I have ever read. Unfortunately went off the original bible account 3/4 way through, but still a good read. Hope there is more to come!

Oh Please!1
I dont normally find the odd inconsistency or inaccuracy too distracting in a work of fiction but Mr Robinson pushes wild coincidence and improbability to new extremes that are impossible to ignore.
In providing background to his scenario he presents 'scientific ideas' that wouldn't convince a thoughtful 14 year old and all such holes in his plot are covered by the justification that God can make anything happen.

There are also some staggering stereotypes, the Americans (God bless them all) are heroic and save the day, the Arabs are a bunch of suicide bombers, the Chinese ruthless and deceitful.

Sadly, by the end it had also become clear that a sequel would seem to be on the cards.

There are some very positive reviews here and I would agree that it is fast moving and there is plenty of action but I'm afraid I found it a very frustrating read and will not be bothering with any more of his books.
