Virginia's genius was to make the ordinary seem extra ordinary and this novel highlights this beautiful.

A probably prophetic nightmare which Atwood executes wonderfully.

Joanne Harris doesn't challenge her audience much nor does she have much literary imprtantance but as far as story telling goes this is gripping.

I literally had no interest in history until I read this in my teens and so now I think of it as an old friend. Prince Michael writes a history based on more traditionally feminine virtues.
