Introduction to the built-up ship model4
Detailed sequential instruction on constructing the built-up ship model, Bbt it is primarily directed at US ships. Accurate lists of the various countries' mast rules, including tops, heads, trestletrees etc, and rope & block dimensions, ensure that your model will look like the real thing and not a misproportioned eyesore.
There are lots of hints and tips to making the rigging and the ground tackle (capstans, bitts, winches, anchors) look real, including correct proportions of gunports.

The book does assume that you have an accurate drawing to work from and with this in mind it is a welcome addition to anyone's library. My only complaints are that there should be more detail on planking, and some of the drawings are a tad small, obscuring the detail. ****

Nice book about ship building3
This i a fine book witch gives you a lot of background information about ship modells.

But its a lot of text, and the illustrations do not always make clear what is mend.

Its not a book where you can find how to bend whood, ore how to rig youre ship, but you can find out what kind of pumps where used. The different kinds of rig, types of ships.

So everything about the ships, of course you can use this information in youre own ship buiding, but not as a hands on manual, but more as background information.

I wouldn't reccomend it for the beginner, for the beginner a "how to build" manual is more usefull than a "why its used" manual.

But if you are a bit more experienced and want to know why its made the way its made this can be a nice addition o youre book collection
