Structured around the three main areas of Shoot, Enhance and Enjoy, AVA's Digital Photography series unravels the complex world of digital imaging while concentrating on the photographic aspect. Digital Glamour is the third subject-led title in this highly successful series and will cover all the basics, such as what kind of camera you need, making and shooting in a home-studio, and how to shoot digital glamour shots outdoors. Chapters in the book will also cover commercial glamour - adverts, fashion and magazine features - lingerie, pin-ups, the nude, fetish and more futuristic glamour shots. The book will round off with a chapter on digital touch-up showing the reader how to clean up complexions, enhance a model's shape and manipulate lighting, shadows and highlights.

Features Some Nice Photographs But Very Scarce Info
This book is neither comprehensive nor a guide. It seems to be a small collection of post-production techniques--the description are not even specific enough for these techniques to be reproduced. I don't quite understand the focus of this book. Sometimes, a technique is described as follows: "dodging was used to accomplish this effect." No further explanation is provided. It is not specific or comprehensive enough for novice users, nor does it provide any new information for advanced users. I would recommend that you chose a different book on the subject, particularly if its your first encounter with the subject.
Dissappointing
This book brings nothing new or inspirational to the table - very few tips and hints for beginners on how to set up and light successful glamour photos. Most of the book concentrates on post-production so unless you use Photoshop or similar, only a handful of pages apply. I found the book very "bitty" to read and was dissappointed in the content.
What was the other guy reading?
The format of the book is exactly the same as in all the other Comprehensive Guide books by AVA. THey are designed to have self-contained spreads covering how a photo was shot, manipulated and printed/used on the web. THe spreads are organsised into chapters, each with a specific theme. THe chapter intro explains what each section is about, and each spread has some different slant, hint or technique. Therefore you can read everything sequentially or dip in and out. THere were contributors from all over the world, using photos of which few had ever been published, so they were new, exciting and fresh. The word glamour didn't mean page 3 cheese, it meant sophistication, dark edgy, passion, from the style of Chicago to Vogue, and then to arty nude and erotica. The book has been reprinted already, licenced around Europe and the pacific, and is currently undergoing another reprint. The other reviewer quite obviously had some ulterior motive and its disappointing to see Amazon publish such an unfounded opinion.
