Customer Reviews

Very Poor1
This title must be one of the worst modelling guides I have ever read.

Primarily, the standard of model illustrated, particularly those dressed in German camouflage uniform, is very low indeed. I have no idea where the references for these unifroms came from as they bear little resemblance to any Wermacht or Waffen SS uniform I have seen.

This is a serious error to make in a "how to" publication as these illustrations are often taken as a standard to aspire to by beginners.

The standard of modelling depicted overall is poor and I felt many of the models were "toyish" and unrealistic.

There is also very little diversity in the painting mediums referred to. If you do not use acrylic paints, do not buy this book. Very little time is spent discussing the alternatives of enamel or oil paints.

I own several of these "how to" publications, the vast majority of which are vastly superior to the subject of this review. However, I do feel that the series editor should look at the lay out of these publications. Verlinden and Euro Modelismo have got it right with their publications being separated into clearly divided sections, topics and chapters. This is not the case here. A valuable opportunity has been missed to deal with personal equipment, persoanl weapons, face painting etc in clearly defined sections or chapters. Instead the reader is presented with a publication with a stilted rhythm.

A great opportunity to provide an invalubale reference source to modellers of all abilites has been missed.
