This huge train set includes a Castle Class locomotive, three Pullman cars and a Pannier tank plus wagons. Add in the Hornby Digital Select Control Unit and you have more than a set, you have the makings of a really impressive model railway layout!

The track configuration will enable the operator, using the Digital Command Control System, to have the Pullman train running around the looped circuit while the 0-6-0 Pannier locomotive can be busy shunting the wagons around either of the two sidings. You can also have the locomotives double-heading and pulling all the Pullman cars and wagons in one long train. This set includes a new design Hornby TrakMat.

Hornby's Digital Train Sets use the Digital Command Control System, this differs from the conventional type of 12v controllers and enables you to control each train directly. Rather than simply applying a variable current to a section of track the track is permanently electrified and you control the train internally via digital controls. This means you can control each train individually wherever it is on the track so you can have two trains on the same stretch of track. It also features realistic train acceleration and deceleration, permanent lights, minimal wiring (no isolators and banks of switches) and much more.
