zombie powder is an action manga based in a western style time, imagine the more well known trigun with a less peaceful main character, this is a good read for fans of trigun and bleach

Naruto is a world in which ninjas are the main forces protecting most villages. There is action, laughs and much stupidity (from naruto :P), a good read.

Black Cat is about a legendary assasin who quit but is still hunted by the organisation he used to be in, great characters, great read

Immortal rain reminds me of trigun, one of the central characters being immortal and hunted for the bounty on his head when a young assasin tries to capture his head but ends up befriending the target

Fans of yugioh will more than likely get along well with this manga, based upon the game GO, an interesting story with a spirit possesing a GO board and helping our hero learn and play GO

Death note is a manga gaining much popularity, although it is a great story with smartly created characters, i think it is oversold, very good, but at the bottom of my chart, :P

Gungrave is a beautiful story based on protecting those you care for and punishing traitors

fullmetal alchemist anime has a different story to that of the manga, but still has the smae cast more or less and is very well made
