Awesome!5
If you're looking for a way to fail you degree, fear not...I have found it.
Buy this game.
I'm supposed to be an adult and yet I'm still adicted to the Sims!

I personally think it runs really quite well on my iBook G4 and am having a right old time with it. I downloaded Aspyrs' game agent and my system did not meet minimum requirements (this is worth downloading if you're not sure what's what on your machine). However, I'm a curious one so decided to buy the game anyway. It runs fine on my laptop which is under 1.2GHz.

System requirements...4
For all the people getting confused about system requirements, you can download the Aspyr "Game Agent" from their website here [http://www.aspyr.com/games.php/mac/aga/], which will tell you whether you Mac can run the game or not...

It works and it's great4
Got given this for my birthday although was a bit apprehensive following the reviews of people who couldn't get it to work on their Macs especially since I too have a basic G4 powerbook. There was no need to worry however, I can only assume other people who have given this a bad review had used all their memory up but it's really not fair to give the game a 1 star review if you haven't actually played it.

Installing was so easy I didn't even have to read instructions - as soon as I put the CD into the drive a folder appeared - I dragged and dropped this into `applications' and sure enough 10 mins later I was playing the game. I also have World of Warcraft loaded up onto my Mac and there are no performance or graphics issues with either. As far as the Sims 2 is concerned I've got the graphics set to maximum!

The game is quite simplistic before you get all the expansion packs but it's a great place to start (the only place obviously) and gets you in the swing with juggling work and your relationships, the chores and bringing up the kids. If you've never played before then it's a `God' game - you control the little people you create telling them when to eat, go to the bathroom, what job to get however Sims depending on what star sign they are will lean towards one particular career. They also have aspirations which are family, love, money or popularity. Basically if you choose `family' aspiration for your Sim they'll want lots of babies but if you choose `love' they'll fear engagement and being tied down preferring lots of different lovers at once. The choice is all up to you. I love the addition of pregnancy in this game and the fact that the game combines the `genes' of your sims to produce a child. You never know whether they'll have their mother's eyes or their father's nose.

This game has given me hours of fun and with the expansion packs, which really are worth the money, it gets better and better. I play as myself and my boyfriend and when he's not around it's all about me and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Highly recommended.
