Product Description

There are many guides to campsites, but there's only one "VisitBritain" guide, the only official national guide to quality-assessed camping and touring parks in Britain. It is packed full of information that holiday-makers need: over 1,000 camping, caravan and holiday parks in Britain, all inspected by the national tourist board; inspirational tips on where to go for each region; top visitor attractions; where to find information - list of Tourist Information Centres; short breaks guide - exclusive offers for guide readers; list of events throughout the year; and, colour location maps to make planning trips easier. New this year is the introduction of forest holiday villages, holiday villages that are situated in a forest setting with conservation and sustainable tourism being a key feature. "Britain's Camping, Caravan & Holiday Parks 2008" features holiday parks, touring parks, camping parks and holiday villages. Arranged by region and in town order, this easy-to-use guide is a must when planning short breaks or longer holidays.

Very small selection. Firmly aimed at Caravaners2
This guide featues a very small and highly selective selection of full-service 'parks' (I would hesitate to call them sites). For example, it lists only 18 'parks' for the whole of Wales. Very firmly aimed at Caravans and Motor Homes and pretty useless for tent campers.

Everything I needed5
I bought this book as it seemed to offer information on a broad range of campsites in Britain, all quality-assessed by the tourist board - and I wasn't disappointed! What surprised and pleased me though was the extra information offered - a double page calendar to help plan your breaks, details of festivals, notes pages, national cycle network and other travel info, and places of interest to visit. And it fits neatly into your glovebox. Good purchase.
