Superb 19" LCD monitor at low price
I own this monitor, although i did purchase it from elsewhere, cost me about the same once P&P was added in.

The reason I purchased this monitor is because the specs and other reviews i read suggested that it should be an affordable LCD monitor that would be suitable for graphic design work.

I have to say that it really is a superb display! No dead pixels. Extremely crisp and bright image, good colour reproduction. Excellent for watching movies, gaming and using graphics applications such as photoshop or illustrator.

I should point out that the current product title is incorrect for the HCD194D. The specs are higher! It has a 700:1 contrast ratio and a maximum display resolution of 1280x1024 pixels.

If you buy this monitor you wont be disappointed!

Highly recommended
I was very impressed by this monitor, an overdue replacement for my old CRT.
Picture is excellent and there are no dead or stuck pixels (although this is not guaranteed)
The picture is excellent through the supplied DVI connection. I note on reviews elsewhere that there is some doubt whether this lead will continue to be included. Check!
As my first TFT I have no point of comparison. However the quality is everything I hoped for and the extremely low price makes it worth 5 stars in my book.
I am sure there are higher quality /specified TFTs out there. But not at anything like this price!

An excellent value monitor
I knew this monitor was bigger than my old 17" CRT but I had no idea until I started using it how much easier it would make working on my computer. For a start it nearly doubles the amount of 'desktop' space I had on my old monitor, which maxed out at 1024 x 768. Now, at 1280 x 1024, my old screenful of icons now only takes up half the screen. Juggling multiple open windows round is also so much easier now I have the extra room. Not only that, but although my icons and text are now a lot smaller, I find them a lot easier to read. Everything is a lot sharper.

The monitor itself is very easy to install, and has a sharp bright clear picture. There are no dead pixels on this monitor either. It is lightweight, looks good, and comes with a black plastic tiltable stand. The two small speakers below the screen are perfectly adequate for general use.

Niggles? Nothing significant, but the VGA plug connection in the back of the monitor is a little awkward to get at and there is slight unevenness of backlighting down the right hand side of the screen. Nothing that need deter the average user though.

This is an excellent monitor at an incredibly low price and anyone struggling with an old 17" or smaller monitor should buy one now!
