A better trackball
I bought this from Amazon to replace a similar mechancial ball, which was my second one of these. After having problems with dirt affecting the rollers on the mechanical ones, the optical one is much better. It picks up some dust but that never prevents the ball working, it just makes it jerky and can be easily cleaned. It is very reliable and fits the hand well. It was worth the money.

Excellent
I have use a Kensington trackball for years. The accuracy is of considerabl help with my hobby of restoring photographs although I do use a Wacom Intuos3 for the most demanding jobs. The old trackball virtually died and I purchased the optical trackball. The difference is astounding and I am delighted with my purchase. If you need a new mouse, the Kensington Orbit Optical Trackball will do everything you desire and in considerable style. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent .. and scrolling is easy
I have tiny hands and find it really easy to use. Also, scrolling is a doddle. Use one finger to hold down the left button and another to roll the ball up and down to scroll.

I previously had the Kensington trackball elite at work, and despite regular cleaning, the rubber rollers got too clogged up and it stopped working. I'm really pleased that this is an optical mouse and I no longer need to keep on trying to clean the rubber bits, which was really fiddly.
