Customer Reviews

Sunglass requiried,2
You really need sunglasses to use this monitor, or turn down the brightness to such an extent the contrast suffers badly. It's got lots of adjustments, but no backlight control.

Probably good if you watch movies or play games (get a wide screen), but no go for word processing or web browsing.

Look elsewhere.

bright but give it time.4
First the screen was so bright but after 2 months or so I no longer notice. It has 7 one touch setting game/movie etc which i never use. I connect through the dvi socket so no need for bundled software. Compared to my old viewsonic va915 it has better colour reproduction and quicker responce time only draw back slight backlight bleed when screen is all black. If you play games, surf the net this is a great screen viewing photos is it only down fall as they sometimes look grainy but i belief this to be a problem with how the picture was taken. All in all glad I did not send it back as I planed to. GREAT screen given time.

faulty item, poor service, typical samsung1
i spent roughly an hour looking for my first flatscreen monitor, thinking i'd go for a more expensive one by a trusted brand, rather than a cheap one that would probably break after ten minutes, serves me right for trusting a big company i suppose.

at £170 i would expect a high quality product, and decent technical service. after plugging my monitor in and installing the software using my old monitor, i had no picture, i followed all the troubleshooting tips, all to no avail. so i rang the customer service line, and after waiting until 7:50pm i recieved a phonecall from a technician who refused to listen to what i had to say, and abruptly told me that my graphics card was the problem. i use a licenced ATI radeon 2600HD graphics card with all the latest drivers and firmware, which anyone who knows their stuff will tell you, it's a good graphics card, yet my computer didnt detect the display. i know that my graphics is not the problem, so i tried the customer service line a second time, only to be told that the problem was not with my monitor, therefore, it is not their problem. nice, i'll think twice before buying samsung again.
