Makes ironing faster
This is a bit of a men's iron: it's heavy and very masculine in its styling. The dark grey body with light-up blue water reservoir make it clear that it is aiming for something a little more designer than that naff grey and white one your mum had.

Does it work? Yes - and very well. The bits you have to think about (temperature and steam control) are straightforward and it heats up really quickly. Ideal for those of us who don't always remember to iron our shirt the night before and end up doing it in a rush over breakfast.

The base is good non-stick and moves quickly over shirts with no shortage of steam. Strangely, it doesn't run out of water too quickly either although the free filler jug is a great idea and saves all of those unplug-it-and-fill-from-the-tap moments that slow you down. Morphy Richards have clearly done their homework on how irons get used as well - if you leave it in the upright position and wander off for a few minutes it turns itself off - great for those of us who have the occasional dozy moment. On other irons that might be an annoyance but this one heats up again quickly enough for it not to matter.

I hate ironing shirts and this iron made it easier and, importantly, much faster - I'd guess around 20-30% faster. Gets four stars because I can't face giving five to an iron!

Apparently very heavy
Wouldn't know myself, but the house elf tells me that this was so heavy she couldn't iron for more than a couple of hours at a time without getting tired. So if you want my advice, go for something a bit lighter or the hoovering will never get done.

Smooth results
Chose this iron as it was a Which Mag 'Best Buy'.
Have been impressed with results. Looks good and easy to operate. If i had to find fault it is a little heavy but have become used to that. Would highly rec.
