Most Haunted First Season - Great Spooky TV! 5
Most Haunted has become one the most loved and talked about shows of all time. This is the first season in where we meet the team fronted by Blue Peter's very own...Queen of Scream...Yvette Fielding. She also produces it with her husband Karl Beattie, he is always seen on screen getting scared to death with their co mates. You also meet spiritualist medium Derek Acorah, who until later seasons, had a brilliant gift and spooked you to death! There is also Parasychologist Jason Karl, sadly, he's only in this season!

Let's look at the show!

Athelhampton Hall in Dorset - Derek connects with the spirit of a dead monkey, rumoured to haunt the property, which also seems to affect the owner's dog. Elsewhere the crew all hear a cot rocking, but nobody is in the bedroom. Orbs are also spotted in the vicinity. The crew split into two groups - when the boys venture into the passageway where the monkey died, Karl feels something breathing on his ear!

Chillingham Castle in Northumberland - Early on, a strange shadow in seen at one of the castle's window and soon after a strange hissing sound is picked up, which leaves the team shaken. Derek soon picks up on the spirit of a boy who is trapped behind a wall. While possessed by the spirit he howls 'let everyone know...leave me alone ....help me...behind the wall'. Builders had found the bones of a child in the fireplace. Later, during a solo vigil, Karl picks up some strange sounds and a box appears to move of its own accord!

Avebury Stones and The Red Lion in Wiltshire - During a vigil, Derek sees the unfortunate woman who was killed and thrown down a well. Derek then takes the team outside to the stones for more exploration, while Yvette stays in a room by herself, her first solo vigil, only to feel a tickling sensation on her head. Karl is also scratched on the neck despite the room being empty. Orbs are also caught on camera.

Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in London - Initially, Derek senses little paranormal activity during his initial walk around the theatre, but he is soon possessed by the spirit of one Derek Hallam, who killed another man, Charles Macklin, after a struggle. He also claims another entity, Arthur, is watching the team from the theatre seats. The vigils result in sightings of two apparitions, namely a pair of legs spotted in a doorway and then a man walking up the stairs carrying chains! Scared to me to death to say the least!

Leap Castle, County Offally in Ireland - Before the investigation begins, crew members report problems with their electrical equipment, strange sounds are heard and people are touched or brushed passed by unseen figures. Derek senses a woman, who changes form into a grotesque figure. The spirit does not seem friendly. In the Bloody Chapel, both a Priest and a couple who lost their lives in the room are picked up. During a séance in the chapel, and in the Gallery, strange lights and orbs are recorded. Yvette attempts a vigil on the balcony, but is overcome with emotion before it even begins!

The Ostrich Inn in Berkshire - Derek picks up the presence of a lady in pink, and then shouts out the name Thomas, startling the team. In the Blue Room he connects with a man called Jarman and senses a trap door situated nearby. In the kitchen, the sensation of drowning in oil overcomes Derek and senses the deaths of many people. During the night vigils, an object is seen to be thrown across the loft, with no explanation immediately obvious. One of the team claims to have been scratched or marked by something unseen. A number of strange noises are also reported.

Souter Lighthouse in Northumberland - Derek begins in the engine room, where he picks up the spirits of two men, Thomas and William and also hears a voice telling him 'to go to the water'. He later connects with a disgruntled mariner called Eriksson, possibly the victim of a shipwreck. During the night vigils Derek senses the spirit of Isabella and also a black dog which accompanies her. He also detects a number of intense and depressing souls in the buildings offices. In the kitchen, Derek connects with an entity, unhappy with the team's presence. At this moment strange EMF readings are recorded and an appliance in the room appears to switch itself on.

Charnock Hall in Lancashire - The visit to Charnock gets off to a strange start, as many members of the crew find they cannot stop giggling. Derek picks up on the spirits of several children who roam the area, who play and possibly make noise. He also senses a monk, who may have looked after the children. Many strange lights are picked up on camera and Yvette spots an odd indentation on an unoccupied bed. Later, during the vigil, many of the crew are again overcome by strange emotions.

Culzean Castle South Ayrshire in Scotland - On his initial inspection of the site, Derek hears minstrel music and also the sound of bagpipes, which he accredits to a piper called Donald McGregor. He also senses the presence of a military man called Dwight, who could be former American President Dwight Eisenhower. During the night vigils, the most impressive part of the investigation is several light orbs, recorded in the Earl's Bedroom, appearing seemingly on request. They also pick up a larger anomaly, larger than an orb, which the team feels is the manifestation of a spirit.

The Mermaid Inn in East Sussex - Derek picks up the duellists, said to haunt the building and also a woman with child sitting in a rocking chair. He feels she has some connection with local smugglers and a man called George. The vigils begin in the Elizabethan Room, where a door appears to open by itself. Derek identifies a bearded spirit who has entered. In another bedroom, footsteps and creaking are heard and it appears that someone tries to open the door, though no one is near. Light anomalies are also recorded in this location.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach in Lancashire - Derek is able to learn more about the infamous ghost Mr Cloggs, who is said to haunt the ghost train. The team hear footsteps following them as they walk through the dark tunnel of the ghost train and feel something unseen touching their heads. Rick is then taken over by something and tells Karl and Stuart the Ghost Train isn't how he built it, believe me, its very spooky!

Treasure Holt in Essex - On his initial visit to the building, Derek immediately connects with a monk who roams the building and also a couple who murdered people and are connected to him in some way. Upstairs he senses a man called Percy, who possesses him, believing he is still alive. A night vigil in the woods outside the property causes a great deal of apprehension and fear in the group, while a number of strange lights are recorded in the upstairs rooms. A locked off camera with a motion detector also captures a strange image, which could resemble the part manifestation of a figure.

Derby Gaol in Derbyshire - While Derek discusses executions at the gaol while in the condemned cell and the specific case of a woman who died there, Yvette inexplicably bursts into tears. Later the smell of roses is detected in the same room. Orbs are also recorded throughout the investigation. A 'trigger object' experiment, featuring a wooden cross on a piece of paper, seems to show that the cross has moved, though the room is locked. Video footage shows something unseen 'moving' the paper.

Aldwych Underground Station in London - Yvette dresses in a 1940s army uniform to get into the feel of the station. Derek contacts a ghost called Margaret, who could be the actress sighted many times before. As the crew walk through the tunnels in complete darkness, Yvette thinks she sees someone or something in the tunnel. Meanwhile, over another platform, a motion detector is set off yet nobody is near enough to trigger it.

Charleville Forest Castle, County Offally in Ireland - Early on in the investigation, the team were spooked by doors opening and closing under their own power. In the dungeons, Derek picks up the residual energy of an evil jailer, who strikes him on the arm. Several team members feel a tickling sensation of their heads and a candle flickers without any breeze present.

Michelham Priory in East Sussex - This pilot episode of Most Haunted was a taste of things to come, providing a variety of activity. During Derek's initial inspection, a door appears to open of its own accord, as he connects with the energies a young girl, who is scared by the spirit of one Thomas Sackville. When Yvette is pinched by something unseen, Derek suggests this is the girl, Molly, trying to get her attention.

During the night vigils, Karl is startled by the appearance of the lower half of a man, his legs and long cloak, materialising by the fireplace. Light anomalies are the picked up in the same place. Later, in the stairwell where the spirit of Molly hides, one of the crew is tripped and Yvette claims to hear laughter at the same moment. More strange lights are filmed in the empty room.

Levens Hall in Cumbria - Derek connects with both the spirit of the dog and also the fabled Grey Lady, who he identifies as a member of the de Redman family. He senses a great deal of activity throughout the hall, with many energies wandering around the building. He is drawn to the tower, where he reports that a curse was placed against the building. As the vigils began in the corridor, Derek's jacket is grabbed by an unseen force. Karl is also prodded, as he investigates a strange noise in the gardens. Back in the corridor, temperature drops are recorded, as are strange EMF readings. Yvette attempts a solo vigil at that destination, but quickly leaves as creaking sounds are heard and a door continually opens by itself, even when she has firmly closed it.

Now about that last moment, its got nothing to with wind, floorboards or something to do with an old house! You can see it open, theres nothing behind that door and then it closes in front of yours and Yvettes eyes....its very very spooky!

For the good price you got two Best Of moments, but you've been watching all 5 DVDs for hours....so its a waste really. Yet its a brilliant DVD and I am hoping to get 2,3,4,5 and 6 very soon! This proves theres more to life and death....just dont turn your lights off!

The Beginning5
These Most Haunted Complete Series boxed sets offer fans of the show many hours of entertainment and at a very good price. The very first episode of Most Haunted introduces us to the team and spiritualist medium Derek Acorah. Yvette Fielding presents the show and produces it with her husband Karl Beattie. Parasychologist Jason Karl only appears in this series however.

At Michelman Priory in Sussex a ghostly pair of legs is seen standing in an old fireplace. This is not captured on film however and this pilot episode will be remembered for the orb count and the crazy EMF readings. At Athelhampton Manor in Dorchester the first spirit that Derek encounters is not a tragic child, murdered lover or victim of war. It is infact ....... a monkey! At Chillingham Castle in Northumberland Derek channels the spirit of a "Blue Boy" who was trapped behind a wall and died there. The noises Derek makes will either disturb or tickle the viewer. At Derby Goal in Derbyshire a small, wooden cross is placed on a table in a prison cell and filmed. Even though the door is locked and nobody enters the cell the cross is recorded moving. At Leap Castle in Ireland Derek encounters a rare "elemental" ghost. This particular female spirit was a master of the black arts in life and is now able to shift her shape into a grotesque animal form. At The Mermaid Inn in Sussex the team are investigating a room when suddenly a closed door is unlatched and pushed open by unseen hands. At Charleville Forest Castle in Ireland Derek confronts the "most concentrated evil force" in his career to date. While in the dungeons below the castle he is attacked by the spirit of a man who committed many atrocities when alive.

Series 1 presents the viewer with lots of captivating footage of paranormal activity. We get to see orbs, flashing lights, moving objects and hear disembodied voices and the bumps and bangs which are a staple of the entire series. Even certain members of the crew cannot escape unexplained physical injuries. Combine this with Yvette's hysteria and Derek's other-worldy eccentricity and fans of the show will find this boxed set eerily watchable.
