Slightly hard going!
Thought i would buy this book as an update to Precision Heart Rate Training, which i have owned for a couple of years.
Well that was a mistake. Although thorough, the book is over technical and it is hard to abtain "take home" messages. There is no section devoted to the effects of different types of exercise on heart rate and Rating of perceived exertion. In my view this is critical failure of a book titled "total heart rate training" - it just doesnt do what it says on the tin.
Once you read the authors bio it is easy to see why the book is so slanted towards the triathaletes and not the general population.
