Good Rope
I purchased this as an upgrade to a reebok plastic speed rope. As the description states it has metal fixtures, a leather rope and wooden handles. It weighs about half a kilo and it's much heavier than my previous rope, but the weight is all in the handles - the rope itself is not weighted. If you need to alter the length then you have to cut it, there is no other real option, you undo a grubber screw in one of the metal fixtures, remove the rope, cut it to length then add it back and reinsert the screw. The screw has a hexagonal head so you will need an appropriate tool to remove it. I'm 5 11 and I find that the rope is just right for me. As it's heavier I find that I get a better work out and it spins just as fast.
I've been using it for a couple of weeks and much prefer it to my old rope. 9/10
Not for me
I have used this skipping rope a few times and have decided not to continue with it. It makes quite a bit of noise due to the metal swivels that the rope is attached to the handles with. Though the handles are very comfortable. I didn't like the action of the rope as it is attached at 90 degrees which I found to feel uncomfortable and unnatural while skipping.
The rope I received did not have the one screw in properly and it is so tight I cannot screw it in any further or unscrew it, so basically its a manufacturing fault.
I am 6ft and I found the rope to be slightly short to skip upright and comfortably. An extra few inches would have been perfect.
