More of the same from Deanne Berry 4
If you've done her previous DVD - Pump it Up, then this is probably 3 stars as it's more of the same, fast-paced aerobics to great, fast music - I went through all sections (apart from the dance section) this morning and it wasn't too difficult if you know and have practised the moves from Pump It Up. Although the toning section does get your butt at the end - which has got to be a good thing.
If you're new to these DVD's however, then this is probably 4 stars as you can't go wrong with Deanne Berry somewhere in your exercise dvd collection - it certainly gets you moving and sweating, the moves are good and interesting enough to keep your attention going - not too easy, but Deanne is a good instructor (whether her dress sense is tasteful though probably depends on whether you're a male or female!) and you'll be ok, especially if you're used to aerobics. There are lower intensity options if you so choose, but I would suggest this isn't a DVD to do if you haven't done any kind of exercise for a long time as the music is pretty hectic.
I love the music on these DVDs - although her previous was Ministry of Sound - this one doesn't say it's Ministry of Sound, but if you like that kind of music, this ones for you.
I would personally combine this DVD with one from Davina for an all over workout as hers includes more body toning with weights and although you'll burn fat, it probably won't give you the shape you wish for(i.e. Deanne Berry's!)on it's own. Besides owning more than one Exercise DVD keeps up your motivation.

Amazing inch loss work out5
I was slightly sceptical about this as i have previously used the pump it up with the male instructor!! I watched this dvd through and thought that it looked complicated in areas but thought just give it a go!! The great thing about this dvd is that you can choose your own personalised work out to make the session as long or as short as you have got time for.The moves are fine after a couple of attempts i was jumping just as high as the Clubland team!! I wasnt interested in the Dance Mania section as i didnt think it would work up enough of a sweat!! I did the Aerobics, Combat and toning along with the warm up and cool down twice a week for 4 weeks and when i re-measured myself i had lost a total of 11 inches from all over, i did cut down on food portion sizes, increased my water and fruit intake, so really what i am saying is that by following a sensible diet and combining it with this dvd you should get some amazing results. For the first week in Feb and i will continue to do so i do the combat section then aerobics followed by the combat section again then the toning!! I feel this gives me the ultimate work out, the toning section on the bum is just fantastic, i lost 3 inches of mine in 4 weeks!!! I will do this until the end of March then buy a new one to keep things varied. The music is great and i look forward to doing the workout; it isnt a chore!! Hope this helps you all to buy this DVD!!!

A serious competitor for the 'Pump It Up' series5
Finally the return of Deanne Berry! Featured in the two best 'Pump It Up' workouts hands down (the others are good but 'Beach Body' and 'Hi-Energy' aren't challenging and 'Dancemix' is way too girly and technical), the Australian dancer/choreographer is back for more, this time supporting the 'Clubland' branch.

Well, now I have done my first recognition viewing (I haven't tried it yet), and all I can say is 'thumbs up'.

First, Deanne is as good and encouraging as ever (although maybe a bit more tarty outfit-wise), and the soundtrack is brilliant, apart from that cheap 'Now You're Gone' cover (as if AATW didn't have other 'real' hits to put on this DVD!). The mixing of the tracks is not always perfect but it is quite a minor detail.

As for the workout, it is divided between four 15 minute-sections (aerobics, dance, combat and toning), with a warm up and a cool-down section.

On the whole, this is really a high-energy workout and it looks quite challenging. 'Pump It Up' fans like me will recognise a lot of moves practised before (usually at a higher speed), with a couple more added. To sum it up, it has the challenging energy of the first 'Pump It Up' with the variety and easy-to-use qualities of 'Burn It, Lose It'.

If you are a beginner, this may be a bit hard, but lower intensity moves are shown as well, so you should be able to work your way through it. As for more confirmed users, this is a nice and challenging progression from Deanne's previous works and should keep you going for 2009. I can't wait to try it!

Now I'm curious too see how the new back-to-basics 'Pump It Up - Aeroburn' will do, but 'Clubland - Work It Out' is definitely a very tough act to follow and shouldn't be left out if you like aerobics and dance music.
