A girl tries to make up for a lie she tells which ruins several lives. Beside the slow start this was pretty much perfect. It will be interesting to see what the film does with the plot.

A caretaker and his family look after a creepy old hotel. The characterisation is spot on, and the tension builds nicely, but the end is a real anti-climax.

The magic was waning in book 5 and its not back here. If the first book was of this quality then Harry Potter would be unknown. Still, its nice to know how things end.
