Customer Reviews
A GREAT read, and a very interesting play...
I had to purchase a copy of this for my University Course and I'm glad I got my own instead of borrowing from the library! ^_^
The story is of a highly intelligent man who makes a decision to sell his soul to the devil for 24 years of power...engrossing and at times very scary, there's a lot of controversy and religious themes. It's a typical Renaissance play by the man who 'inspired' Shakespeare.
It comes with detailed introductory notes on the history of the play, the two texts published, the playwright and film and stage productions made of it. At the end there are interviews from an actor who played the devil Mephistopholis and a Producer of one of the performances.
All in all, a very good buy. ^_^
