Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Whoopi Goldberg returns in a gratuitous, poorly written sequel that contrives a reason to get her character back into Maggie Smith's convent. The "socially conscious" plot finds Goldberg being asked to relate to a bunch of street kids and pull them together into a choir. Since a bad guy is needed, the script grabs that old chestnut about a rich guy (James Coburn) preparing to close down the convent's school, and runs with it. The film is slow and unconvincing from start to finish, although co-stars Mary Wickes and Kathy Najimy get some good laughs, and the music is pretty spirited. --Tom Keogh

Synopsis
SISTER ACT 2: BACK IN THE HABIT is the sequel to the surprise smash hit SISTER ACT. Whoopi Goldberg returns as Deloris Van Cartier, who, at the film's opening, has become a successful Vegas headliner, belting out undeniably cheesy medleys of R&B hits. The nuns she shielded her identity from in the first film arrive to beg her to help them revitalize their San Francisco Catholic school. Deloris is persuaded to put her Sister Mary Clarence costume back on and work with a bunch of undisciplined street kids as the school's music teacher.

Absolutely fabulous5
Humour, emotion, songs, suspense, what more could you want in a film???? singing and dancing nuns! uncontrollable kids turned into musicians who win a trophy and save their school from closure. WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great!5
Whoopi Goldberg stars in one of the uplifiting movies around, even though filmed in 1993 the difference in years is not made apparent due to the insirational and uplifing music and acting throughout the movies. Whoopi Goldberg struts her stuff as the under cover nun Marie Clarance and attends a high school which she turns upside down, music is great and the soundtrack is wonderful, a must see.

Whoopi Returns5
