This winning 1990 comedy stars Arnold Schwarzenegger in an initially self-deprecating role as a grizzled, big-city cop who goes undercover as a small-town kindergarten teacher to nab a killer. One of the best films of director Ivan Reitman (Dave), this comedy (with some thriller elements) went a long way to further soften and broaden Schwarzenegger's image after Reitman worked with him in the gentle Twins. But Kindergarten Cop is genuinely touching, the story of a hard man who visibly finds his true passion and soul by leaving behind the rot of urban crime. Penelope Ann Miller is a delight as the love interest, Pamela Reed is wonderful as Arnold's cop partner, old pro Carroll Baker is quite nasty as the villain's evil mother, and Linda Hunt--whose diminutive stature makes for quite a contrast with Schwarzenegger when they share scenes--is entertaining as a tough principal. Upon its release, some people assumed the title meant this is a good movie for little kids, but it isn't. --Tom Keogh

Synopsis
To trap an elusive criminal a veteran cop is forced to go undercover as a kindergarten teacher. But it's not all playtime and naps as he wrangles with the precocious tots and wins the affections of a beautiful young teacher. This charming film is one of Schwarzenegger's best efforts, filled with lighthearted comedy and a surprising tenderness from the famed muscle man.

the great thing about this is 1 its funny 2 it has arnold schwarzenegger this film is remarkble one of my all time favourite movies.

Arnie faces his greatest challenge; KIDS !!!
After battling cyborgs, Predator, terrorists and mercenaries, Arnie faces his greatest challenge; KIDS !!! He acts as a cop in the style of Stallone in Cobra on the trail of a notorious criminal. The only way he can get to him though is via his kid..thus explaining the kindergarten.

Arnie is on the trail of Cullen Crisp, and has been for years. This trail leads him to Astoria, Oregon, and to the local elementary school to do something unbelievable--teach 5-year olds! He must protect a young boy, Dominic Palmieri, and track down Cullen. This won't be easy, with little ones all over him!
Poor Arnie is up to his ears in paint sets, screaming, toys, and whining. But when he begins to show them how to be tough, the kids begin to like him, and the feeling is reciprocal.

My favorite parts are when Arnie sees the children acting horribly, and he sreams "SHUTUP! SHUTUP! SHUTUP!" and all the kids start crying, so he runs out of the school. I felt so bad for them! another great part was the game "Who's your daddy, and what does he do?" The answers were comical (Rina and Tina: Our mom says that our dad is a real sex machine!, My dad lives in NY and drives a taxi. My mom hopes he dies real soon, Joesph: My dad is a gynecologist. He looks at vaginas all day.) This movie also had some great lines (Joesph: Boys have a penis. Girls have a vagina. Arnie: Thanks for the tip. Arnie: It's not a tuma!")

this is a great film, and the kids certainly make it memorable. I highly recommend this film to everyone! Like kindergarten, you definitely don't want to turn your back on this movie!:)

Terrible!!!!!!!
Typical silly american humour, not funny in the slightest and not very entertaining either. Arny has made a lot of very bad films put this is probably the worst. May appeal to kids or people of a childs interlect, but not to any one else. Story line and acting are below standard for good viewing.
