Whatever you do, don't confuse this Jack Frost with the 1997 comedic horror flick of the same name (its tagline: "He's chillin ... and killin'"). This family film stars Michael Keaton as Jack Frost, an aspiring musician, loving husband and occasionally absent father. Frost's life is unexpectedly cut short by a car accident and a year after his death he comes back as--you guessed it--a snowman, to help his family heal (Kelly Preston and Joseph Cross as wife and son Gabby and Charlie, respectively). The sudden death may affect sensitive younger viewers but by the time Frost returns the movie is more light-hearted and the film's message is a worthy one. There's an underlying theme that supports independence, and Gabby isn't saddled with a new dude by the film's end. There's also a good rapport developed between father and son, and especially mother and son. If an audience can take that huge leap of faith to accept the premise (as youthful audiences will no doubt be able to do), this is entertaining family fare. --N F Mendoza

Synopsis
Keaton stars as a blues musician and family man who is killed in an auto accident. A chance twist of fate, however, allows his spirit to inhabit a large (computer animated) snowman on the year anniversary of his accident so that he may make amends with the young son he never had enough time for.

A Christmas Gem for the kids from the Capra dynasty
When Frank Capra directed It's a Wonderful Life a classic was made and whilst Jack Frost may not be anywhere near to this standard a 3rd generation Capra directs a very enjoyable Christmas fare.Michael Keaton and Kelly Preston shine in this warm hearted tale about young boy whose father is too occupied with hitting the big time rock and roll stage rather than spend time with his kid.However this all changes when the film takes a rather unusual twist(if not totally unbelievable). Nevertheless,the storyline has a warm Dickens type feel good factor and an underlying message for ignoring father's.Michael Keaton is polished in his role as the father of Charlie and Kelly Preston shines as his mother in a spoof snowman tale that is bound to go down well with the kids (guaranteed)The sound effects pan around the room testing all speakers and in time this will be a film played over the festive season.Enjoyable and entertaining harmless family fun.

Greatest Horror Movie EVER!!......
...no! but its really fun,Jack does not look like on the box he looks better! well the next best thing to a guy with a duvet over him, but wait till you see the corny death scenes with jingle bell rock playing in the background and you wont stop laughing, yes ok his hands look like oven mits and he bareley picks things up rather than things sticking to his mits with no grip. his voice is ridiculous, the plot is stupid, the acting is terrible and the budgets been spread out too much it absorbs into the background.But this all works to the movies advantage and the terrible script actually is a masterpiece, i especially like the kid thinking putting antifreeze into his dads food will keep him warm! and the kid at the beggining getting told the story about jack frost the serial killer by her grandad and just wait till you see the death scenes where jack uses his carrot nose in another place to kill someone,the christmas tree lights and when you find out what kills him you will just FREAK OUT!, no cgi effects in this film like in jack frost 2 (yes theres a sequel, and jack has snowball babies in that one!)but this is one for everyone who thinks dieing is funny or that kids are stupid or that duvets are scary, BUY IT BUY IY BUY IT!!!! you wont regret it!

Garbage
I would have switched this film off earlier, except for the charms of Kelly Preston. I am a fan of Michael Keaton's work, but this was just rubbish, and I seriously doubt that it will appeal to kids of any age. Avoid. Buy "The Santa Clause" or it's sequel instead.
