Synopsis
Bachelor dentist Julian Winston (Walter Matthau) wants an excuse to keep from marrying his flighty younger girlfriend, Jill (Goldie Hawn), so he calls upon his stoic receptionist, Stephanie (Ingrid Bergman) to masquerade as his wife. Much to his surprise, Stephanie emerges from her shell during the process, which complicates matters for the already bewildered ladies' man. This comedy gem, adapted from a hit Broadway play, earned Goldie Hawn a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

Dirty married bachelor!5
It's just "rotten rotten rotten" what some dentists will do to keep from marrying a ditzy girlfriend. Julian (Walter Matthau) pretends to be married already so his truth loving girlfriend, Toni (Goldie Hawn) won't press him to marry her. When she attempts suicide, he realizes that he wants to marry her. Toni agrees only if she can meet the wife to prove that she is not a house/home wrecker. Julian comes up with a wife (Ingrid Bergman.) Toni can see that Julian's wife still loves him. Throw in the neighbor that only wares a towel, Igor Sullivan, Senor Sanchez (Vito Scotti,) a Mexican missile and a wild party. And that is where the fun begins.

a feel fantastic movie5
I love this movie. I watch it over and over and over and never get tired of it. Goldie Hawn is adorably cute and Ingrid Bergman once again takes one's breath away not only by her looks but with her superb acting. No need to mention Walter Matthau, and all the other actors. I love everything about this movie

Tedious - Probably the worst film I have ever seen.1
This film introduces the talented Goldie Hawn. But even Goldie could not light up this humdrum, formulaic offering. Its a standard menage a trois. Young girl, older married man and guy next door. The twist is he's only pretending to be married. The characters are all inane and the plot predictable from the start.

Its awful
