Synopsis
Greek mythology comes to life in this exciting film adaptation of the story of Jason's quest for the Golden Fleece. Ray Harryhausen's special effects in this picture are legendary, especially a sword fight between three live actors and seven skeletons. Loosely based on the Argonautica of Apollonius of Rhodes (c. 250 B.C.).

Jason and the Agronauts
I just love films like this, the special effects are fantastic, they dont make films like this anymore, its a pity as we english used to be leading the best film industry in the world. now we are hopless at making great films our American cousins have lead the way for such a long time.I also like this film as its location is Canary Islands in Tenerife, it is a lovely place its well worth a visit.
Classic
This film really is a classic, i remember who scared i was when the statue Talos came to life and chased Jason when his crew stole the gods treasure. This movie is amazing still after all these years. The story of the hunt for the Golden Fleece is a very ancient story, and this film is not too far off from the book.
Jason and the Argonaughts is definately a must for anyone who enjoys adventure movies.
A Great Film
Jason and The Argonauts provided me with one of my childhood's most indelible movie memories. It was often screened on Saturday afternoon tv, and I remember being thrilled by Talos and the skeletons. The effects are superbly realised, but what makes this film great is its tone: it's played absolutely straight, and the location photography lends the film an eerily serious quality. Another reviewer has mentioned this, and I think it's key to the film's appeal. The bleached, desolate locations contrast with the stop motion animation to make everything seem even more fantastic. This film is a classic.
