Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
Crime drama BONES follows the investigations of Temperance 'Bones' Brennan (Emily Deschanel, LAW AND ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT), a forensic anthropologist who attempts to identify corpses that are badly burned, decomposed or destroyed. She is frequently paired with Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz, ANGEL) of the FBI's Homicide Investigations Unit to investigate cases. Temperence works at the Jeffersonian Institute and her special skill is the ability to read the clues left behind in the victim's bones, hence her nickname. This leads to her being contacted by the FBI to help with their cases. Booth frequently clashes with Brennan and her methods as he dislikes science and scientists, preferring instead traditional investigative work to solve cases. However, the combination of Brennan and Booth's different skills leads to them becoming an extremely effective partnership in solving cases. In some ways similar to CSI, Bones has proved to be a very successful show and displays a darkly amusing humour amongst the somewhat grim subject matter. The show takes its inspiration from books by Kathy Reichs, a best-selling novelist and real-life anthropologist who works as a consultant on the show. Ironically, Temperance Brennan is also an author, writing about the adventures of a fictional forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs.

Terrible Television1
There are a lot of positive reviews on this DVD. I also read the books by Kathy Reichs. So, this would be good television.
Boy was I wrong. The acting beggars belief. The dialogs make you cringe. The stories and the whole production are nowhere near CSI quality. And the hologram to reproduce human faces from their remains is as funny as Star Trek's Heisenberg Compensator.

Funny bones5
This is an excellent series. Brilliant characters, storylines and humour. Brennon and Booth have a lot of chemistry and its really endearing to watch as they grow to like each other more and more. Can be quite qraphic but no much more so than CSI.

One thing i will say is that the series is unusual in that most of the hour long episode will focus on finding of the bodies, research and talking to suspects but often when the truth is revealed a lot is left hanging in the air and not much time is given to fully explaining motive and there are no flashbacks to the crime, im often left with more questions.... but maybe this is a good thing?

I have enjoyed every single episode and recommend it to all.

Amazing!5
Bones is one of those shows that has that 'special something' that gets you hooked and keeps you hooked. I love this show so much, the characters are deep and interesting. The way the script is written and acted out is amazing too, I love how Brennan and her team always solve the crime (the way they solve it, and all the loose ends they tie up). I'm often certain of who committed the murder/s and then at the end, I get a surprise when I find out I'm wrong!

I'm sorry, I'm not the best reviewer ever (can't quite figure out how to write down the words in my head) but I have one main thing to say: BUY IT! BUY SEASON 2 AS WELL. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

It's much better than CSI, which has been going too long and is getting boring.
