	True Romance : Special Edition [1993] Buy new: £5.13 / Used from: £1.98 I HATED this when I first saw it, now I love it. A sweet love story surrounded by violence, drugs and THAT speech by Dennis Hopper. Brilliant.
	Fight Club [1999] Buy new: £3.67 / Used from: £1.91 Blackly funny, violent, disturbing and unsettlingly brilliant. Genius casting and a jaw-droppingly good scene where Ed Norton beats himself up. One of my top five films.
	Seven - 2 Disc Set [1995] Buy new: £5.68 / Used from: £2.98 Still renders me speechless after each viewing. Bleak, disturbing and completely unique vision of how ANYONE can be manipulated into doing anything. Outstanding.
	21 Grams [2004] Buy new: £3.31 / Used from: £1.20 A heartbreaking story of revenge, obsession and ultimately redemption. Magnificent acting from the 3 leads and once again Inarritu delivers a film most directors can only dream of.
	The Bourne Identity [2002] Buy new: £4.97 / Used from: £2.20 Fantastic thriller. Matt Damon is great as the confused and vulnerable assassin. Great action sequences and story. No wonder the Bond franchise took notice and saw how things should be done. Fab.
	Sex, Lies And Videotape [1989] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £1.80 What IS it about this film, it's hypnotic, intense and I watch it repeatedly, love the story, acting and especially the last scene, a feel good ending.
	In The Cut [2003] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £2.09 An erotic, hypnotic view. Who knew Meg Ryan could act? Gorgeously shot by Jane Campion and a great turn by Jennifer Jason Leigh.
	A History of Violence Buy new: £3.55 / Used from: £0.87 A violent disturbing story superbly acted by Viggo Mortensen and Maria Bello. How long can a man hide from his past and how will his family deal with the shocking revelations? Gripping viewing.
	The Interpreter [2005] Buy new: £3.48 / Used from: £0.50 Taut thriller with the leads outstanding as ever. Not what I expected at all and I like that there is no fluffy romance between them just the thought of what could have been. Give it a chance.
	Bound [1997] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.98 A violent, convoluted sexy thriller with genuine chemistry between Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly. Joe Pantoliano is fab as usual as the not too bright gangster husband. Great fun.
	Equilibrium [2003] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £3.19 Oh god Christian Bale and Taye Diggs in one film, I'll have to lie down. A great film about emotional freedom with some cracking action sequences. This has been rated EC-10!!
	Donnie Darko [2002] Buy new: £1.49 / Used from: £0.17 Surprised by how moving I found this to be. Profound, strange, touching and sad with a great performance from the lovely Jake. Like nothing you've seen before.
	Man On Fire [2004] Buy new: £1.31 / Used from: £0.85 Ah sweet revenge. Great performances in a tough film, sad, moving and yet compelling. "Kill them all".
	Heat : The Movie & More (2 Disc Special Edition) [1995] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £3.15 Top five favourite of mine. Fab cast, story and beautifully filmed but why oh why does the wrong man die at the end? Easily one of the best heist sequences and 2 moving love stories all bound together
	The Usual Suspects (2 Disc Special Edition) [1995] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.49 One of the greatest thrillers, what a cast! Convoluted plot, great ending and the extras on the 2 disc ed are really funny. Once you start watching you can't stop.
	Open Range [2004] Buy new: £3.47 / Used from: £0.89 Don't care if you hate Kevin Costner, this is an old fashioned western with morals. Loyalty, friendship and honour, with stunning cinematography and Robert Duvalls fab performance. Glorious.
	Code 46 [2003] Buy new: £15.99 / Used from: £1.00 This is a film to make you think. Cloning, identity and lack of freedom, it's all here with great acting, scenery and a moving soundtrack. The heartbreaking last scene will stay with you always
	L.A. Confidential [1997] Buy new: £2.68 / Used from: £1.01 Gorgeously filmed and acted especially by Kevin, Guy and Russell. Corruption, sex and scandal all in one beautiful film. Loved the score as well.
	The Last Seduction Buy new: £7.98 / Used from: £11.68 My god, what a woman! Seldom do women get such great amoral roles without the inevitable downfall. Great cast doing a fab job, slick and sexy.
	The Piano (Special Edition) [1993] Buy new: £5.74 / Used from: £6.50 Gorgeous, dreamlike and intense. It almost hurts to breath while watching this. A story of independence, passion and fear. Outstanding cast and Jane Campion proving her worth again. Beautiful.
	Ulee's Gold [1998] (REGION 1) (NTSC) Buy used from: £6.69 A beautiful, subtle film with Peter Fonda as a near recluse dragged into the world again to help his addict daughter in law. Superb and understated.
	2001: A Space Odyssey [1968] Buy new: £6.98 / Used from: £2.25 A towering cinematic achievment, if you don't understand it, read the book. Stunning imagery and very thought provoking.
	All The President's Men (2 Disc Special Edition) [1976] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £4.30 The Watergate Scandal as uncovered by the Washington Post journalists Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward. Intriguing and packed with information, a real achievment.
	The Conversation [1974] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £4.37 Slow, intense and paranoid, what a great film from Ford Coppola. Gene Hackmans acting is superb as you watch his paranoia grow and fear take over. Classic film.
	Chinatown [1974] Buy new: £2.70 / Used from: £2.66 Outstanding modern noir with great performances from Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. The film looks great, the script is witty and intellingent but it is, ultimately, a bleak film. Polanskis best.
