	The Kingdom [1996] Buy used from: £19.99 This mini series by Lars Von Trier is one of the funniest, unsettling things I have seen. It's incredible. See if you can track the sequal as well - you'll want to.
	Slaughterhouse Five [1972] Buy new: £2.98 / Used from: £3.99 Wierd and wonderful anti war comedy. It looks a tad dated but worth a watch I reckon
	The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.94 Opinions surrounding this film are polarised. I love it. There are some great lines in it and a wonderful feeling on misplaced emotion. Soundtrack wise, I prefer the ultra analogue casio riffs.
	Peep Show: The Original UK Series [2003] (REGION 1) (NTSC) Buy used from: £9.24 Everyone's probably well aware of this by now. The first series is a million times better than the first and will have you laughing until you die.
	The Day Today : Complete BBC Series (2 Disc Set) [1994] Buy new: £8.98 / Used from: £6.25 Chris Morris' first significant project is extremely funny. Just as surreal and wierd as Brass Eye, but far less of an assault on the viewer. Alan Partridge has never been funnier.
	Brazil [1985] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £3.25 An absolute goldmine of a film and a must for anyone working in an office. Orwellian, yes, but much more interesting.
	My Wrongs #8245-8249 & 117 [2002] Buy used from: £7.99 Chris Morris' attempt at short film. Very funny indeed (with an excellent remix by sample-smith Osymyso), showing Paddy Considine's range as a superb actor. Talking of which...
	A Room For Romeo Brass [2000] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £3.84 Shane Meadows is a brilliant director, with very similar views on Directorship as Alan Clarke. Here is a slice of the Midlands that is scary, moving, funny all at once. It is a classic.
	Dead Man's Shoes [2004] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £3.50 The comedy here is purely nervous. This is a horrific film, but one that you will walk feeling how necessary it all is. Meadows based it on his own experience as a silent witness to violence.
	Delicatessen [1991] Buy new: £3.99 / Used from: £4.60 Before Amelie there was this film (and City of Lost Children, but i've not seen it). Incredibly well Directed and acted. Black and surreal comedy.
	Dune -- Two-disc Special Edition [1984] Buy used from: £16.75 Despite being panned, chasing Lynch away from big films forever, the story of Dune here is told with marvelous gusto. Lynch injects his warped vision, but it's Brad Dourif's Piter that does it for me.
	Eraserhead [1976] Buy used from: £16.39 An unsettling film. Often referred to as horror, although I see it as a surrealist piece. Often referred to as slow but I think you sort of zone out to it, turns into something that happens to you.
	Dancer In The Dark [2000] Buy used from: £4.10 One of the most heartbreaking films I've seen. Bjork is superb in this crushing tale of innocence betrayed. A must for any Bjork/Lars von Trier fan
	Scum [1979] (Ray Winstone) Buy new: £3.97 / Used from: £1.35 I put off watching this for ages as the whole prison genre freaks me out. I was suprised to find that this was a film of beauty and sensivity. If you had the same hang-up as me, watch it!
	Pi [1999] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £3.35 Aronofsky's debut and an amazing example of the effectiveness of black and white. Caustic, enlighting, brilliant. Superb soundtrack.
	Requiem For A Dream [2001] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £4.00 Not many people haven't heard of Requiem yet but just in case - this is Hubert Selby Jr. magnificently realised. A tale of happiness undercut by addictions.
	Romeo Is Bleeding [1993] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £3.44 No one does American accents like Oldman. This starts out seeming like a noir-ish yarn but mutates into a very odd film indeed. I like it a lot.
	The Descent Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £1.45 Ah yes... finally some gore. There are some marvellously horrible deaths in this film. Coupled with a horrid sense of claustrophobia it's a good slice of shlock fun.
