Reasonable hokum but nothing great3
I didn't realise this was a mini-series till it arrived. What you get is a reasonable little series based on a Templay mystery, which pans out as Indiana Jones mets Lara Croft meets Da Vinci Code. For a couple of evenings light entertainment it works well, and the flashback scenes are fairly good, but the action adventure parts are predictably dumbed down and probably would be enjoyed better by the kiddies. It's not a bad series, it's just not a good one.

Oh dear!1
This was just so bad I had to write my first ever review. The historical aspect of this film is thinly laced throughout and to be honest offers very little to someone who has even a basic knowledge of the history of the crusades and the Knights Templar. The book I haven't read, but the screenplay - well it's just trying to do to much, which isn't a criticism in itself, it just fails to succeed in it's delivery at any point. A historic film - barely, a social comment - poorly, a love story - come on! Then there's a mute scene with the main two actors sitting outside eating in Turkey - looked like the remains of something that had been dropped? And if there was a large budget - well I'm guessing it's in someone's back pocket. This film had all the hallmarks of "made for tv" and in my humble opinion has been a very poor purchase based on what a lot of the other reviews had said. Sorry, it's a wrong un . . . . . good it is not!

Da Vinci Code it ain't2
Well what can i say, the film is a weak attempt at a Da Vinci Code style of film. Good flashbacks to the Templars, but thats where it ends. The main female character is not very 'real'. The editing is also very choppy, towards the end of the film there are some odd scene jumps, one minute they are camping in the desert (love scene) then it cuts to, they have found the missing shrine and are entering it??

Good kiddy/teen film with knights and sword fights but thats it.
